Please join MassArt’s Art Education Department and the Office of Justice, Equity, and Transformation (JET) for the first in a series of creative intergenerational events with Artist-in-Residence, Carolyn Shadid Lewis. Come watch her documentary, InterGeneration, and then hear from a group of Boston teens and elders who participated in the film. Learn about the power of intergenerational relationships in a time of crisis. Then stay for storytelling and animation activities.
InterGeneration will broadcast on PBS member stations in 2025.
Stay tuned for when the film comes to your station.

June 25th 2022 Festival Premiere at the Roxbury International Film Festival
InterGeneration had its film festival premiere at the Roxbury International Film Festival, the largest festival in New England that celebrates people of color. This year's program had over 70 films to enjoy from June 23rd to June 29th. The festival won the 2022 Best of Boston Award.
InterGeneration screened with a selection of films that beautifully spoke to one another. Thoughtfully curated by directors (and sisters) Lisa and Alison Simmons, our program explored the ties that bind community through culture, intergenerational relationship, ancestry, and a shared love of neighborhood.
