Facing History and Ourselves Screening
Thank you for joining the Facing History and Ourselves Screening of InterGeneration. I hope this can be a place to share ideas and resources with other teachers of how to use the film in the classroom. Any response is welcome, but here are a few questions to consider:
Personal Responses:
1. With which InterGeneration participant did you most connect and why?
2. What memories emerged of the elders in your life?
3. What memories emerged for you of the places you lived throughout your life.
4. Did you think of a particular youth after viewing the film? What are the hopes you have for that youth and how can your community meet their needs?
Educational Responses:
1. What are the important themes in the film?
2. How would you connect this film with CASEL’s framework?
3. How would you tie elements of this film with the Common Core State Standards for your particular grade level and subject?
4. What sort of intergenerational project would you initiate in response to viewing the film in your classroom?
